This class is designed as a college prep Chemistry class (if you desire a honors level Chemistry class, please contact Mrs. Hamlin), with the same or similar text used in local high schools. The class is mathematics centric, therefore application of Algebraic principles and formulas will be integral. This class will prepare students for the rigors of college level classes, and will allow for a firm understanding of higher education expectations, lab principles and practices. Experiments/labs will be performed in class, written up at home and turned in for evaluation and grading. The student will be expected to read the text and complete homework problems. Topics covered include but are not limited to: matter, atoms, molecules, stoichiometry, gas laws, electron structure, thermodynamics, covalent and ionic bonding, reaction rates and acid/base equilibria. Daily minimum time spent on this subject should be 1 hour.
Materials needed: scientific calculator (recommended TI-30XS Multiview Scientific Calculator retails around $15)

Intro to Economics
